To tell a little story, my first experiences in management were HARD. I felt a good manager is a strict disciplinarian. One that draws the line frequently and sternly making sure everyone knows what okay and what isn’t.
It could be further from the truth.
A good manager is someone understanding. That serves his people on a regular basis. A good manager also believes in her people. So much so that’s she’s willing to hand certain responsibilities to them so the employee can grow.
Be a good manager today. Love, care for, and serve your people. You’re not their boss you’re their business partner.
