Why personal development is shit and what to do about it

Are you sick of personal development?

Do you feel that everything you read or learn gets you nowhere?

Well, you’re not alone in this.

For every 1000 pages of new content…

You may feel you didn’t come away with anything or forgot 99% of it.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

You see, it’s easy to think that we forget the majority of what we learn.

And it’s even easier to fall into the trap of thinking that one book will change everything.

Yet experience has told us it’s not the case…

So what can we do about it?

Below are two steps to improve your relationship with personal development content and the results it can have in your life.

#1: Change the paradigm by looking for just 2-3 nuggets of gold.

You see, our brains are deletion machines.

We are exposed to thousands of forms of stimulation a day…

So if our brain couldn’t delete and only surface the important things,

We would be completed overwhelmed 24/7.

Thank god our brain deletes 99% of what we learn or experience…

While still retaining it somewhere in our memories.

You might be thinking “what’s this have to do with me and my situation?”

All I am asking is for you to change the expectations of what personal development books/content can do.

Let go of the expectation that things will change overnight.

Expect less and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

For example, look for just 2 nuggets of Gold.

If one averages 50 books a year, that’s 100 gold nuggets that can compound to improve a life.

Not too shabby, right?

#2: To be continued tomorrow…
