How To Grow Your Community Through Collaborations

About one year ago, I was sitting down at the Village Inn on Dale Mabry in the corner. I had invited a friend who was starting a new business to meet with me. I was waiting for him to arrive. At the time, this individual was struggling to get awareness for his new venture. And I figured I could help him with some marketing. Anyway, in the process I told him I would rather some resources to share with him on how to grow. What to do. And how to find customers.

Easy enough, right?

Anyway, I had a few commitments, ideas, and resources that I brought to this meeting. First, I promised him that I would consult him for free for up to 60 minutes. Second, I told him I would provide him with a one page marketing plan. And finally, I told him that I would bring him two (2) books that might help him. So again, here I was sitting with these materials in front of me.

Fast forward, he arrives. We go over everything. We create a plan. And before we know it, I was giving him the two books and sending him on his way. And what were they you might be asking? No gatekeeping. I’ll dive right in…

The first was a direct response marketing book by Dan Kennedy. Pretty simple. Know what you can pay for a lead. And measure it like a hawk. And the second was my favorite. It was a book called “Traffic Secrets” by Russell Brunson. And the reason why I’m telling you this is because it’s in this book that I found the best marketing advice. At least in regards to How To Build Your Community Through Collaborations.

Moving on.

In traffic secrets, there is this concept called the “Dream 100.” And here is what it means… Identifying the individuals and corporations that have already congregated your ideal customer. And once you do this… You create a list.

Anyway, why am I writing this to you?

And what’s it got to do with anything?

It’s this:

You have a tribe. You have a community. A congregation of people. And it’s likely if you have products and services to sell that need awareness. And because of this, you need to think about how to generate as much traffic as possible to what you are up to. So you can build your fan base. Sell stuff. And live your dream life. Again, easy enough right?

Onward.

I want to share with you how to build your dream 100. And from there grow your business. So, without further a do, here it is:

If you are looking to Grow Your Community Through Collaboration, here are the steps:

  1. Define your ideal customer
  2. Identify all the individuals who have already congregated that customer
  3. Create a list of names, numbers, addresses.
  4. Make contact in a value driven way and also in a multimedia way
  5. Stay consistent
  6. Ask for the order (ask to collab with them on something). This could be doing a podcast together, an event, a Instagram live, Facebook post, whatever.
  7. Rinse and repeat

In the end, if yo do all these steps, you can find the right individuals. Build the right relationships. Create new collaborations. And flood your business or organization with interested parties. Opt ins. And cash cash baby!
